December 25th, 2006 . by Jilly
From CNN.com…
James Brown, the legendary R&B belter, a singer and songwriter who created a foundation for funk and provided the roots of rap, a man of many nicknames but a talent that can only be described as one of a kind, is dead.
He was 73. Brown had severe pneumonia and is said to have died of heart failure.
He was renowned for his shouting vocals and his insane dancing skills. Wikipedia has a bio of his life here. Here’s a youtube of I Feel Good and Sex Machine.
i´m so sad… sniff sniff. i got to see the godfather in action last year in a show in iceland. he will be missed. its not a real party if you dont play something with james brown!!
This is one of the greatest losses music will ever know! I’m two shades bluer since I found out.
