How do I follow up a post like that?
November 15th, 2006 . by JillyI don’t think there’s anything that can ever top that last post.
I don’t think there’s anything that can ever top that last post.
I thought this was only an urban legend, a fairy tale of the heavenly sort. However, this the sound of air and honey is the real deal. I finally found a link to ‘All flowers in time bend towards the sun’, the duet Jeff Buckley recorded with Elizabeth Fraser before his death. The words to describe the way their voices dance around each other have not been created so just listen here.
You’re Welcome!!
Last weekend Borat was the highest grossing movie in the U.S. Its hard to believe that there’s just a totally regular guy there underneath all of his characters. Here’s his biography.
Neatorama had up this link to an interview of Sacha Baron Cohen out of character, being himself. Its kinda weird.
Watching this is like finding out Santa Claus doesn’t exist.
Here’s a picture taken of a national park in Croatia called Plitvice Lakes National Park.

I just across this video on YANP’s site. I like it. This song is sweet. I promise if you’ve had a bad day, this will make you happy.
All week I’ve been seeing commercials for this show on the Sundance channel called Iconoclasts. I was a little bummed that I don’t get that channel when I saw that Fiona Apple was gonna be on this week with Quintin Tarantino. But after seeing this clip, I no longer feel that I missed anything.

Here’s a video of Modest Mouse performing “Float On” at the Wiltern last night. And of course, Johnny Marr played with them. What do you think, do you hear any of our old Johnny coming through?

It seems like since the Crane Wife was released there has been no shortage of news items about the Decemberists.
The Decemberists just played a concert in D.C. for NPR’s live concert series. It was pretty awesome. Colin Meloy knows how to work the audience. He even gets them to warm up their vocal chords. Its definitely worth checking out.
NPR is streaming the concert here.
And Pitchfork had an interview with Colin Meloy last week here.

From NME..
The Flaming Lips’ UK tour began in controversial fashion on November 4 at the Brighton Centre.
Clearly distressed, lead-singer Wayne Coyne spent much of the band’s set appealing to the crowd for information after a number of personal possessions - including his wife’s digital camera and a laptop - were stolen from the group’s dressing room prior to the show.
Speaking from the stage Coyne described the culprit captured on the venue’s CCTV as “of regular build, about 5ft 11″ who was, “wearing a light blue hooded athletic top with a white stripe”.
It was an incident-packed night which also saw the band’s typically spectacular show halted for 15 minutes after a girl at the front of the crowd was taken ill with suspected epileptic fit following a light-heavy rendition of ‘The W.A.N.D’.
The group were then able to conclude the show without further incident.
Maureen played the new Album Leaf album for me today and I remembered that I had seen this music video of their new song “Always For You”. Its very romantic.
