Tomorrow is Buy Nothing Day
November 23rd, 2006 . by JillyTomorrow is Black Friday - the biggest shopping day of the year. Some people in protest of consumerism are buying nothing tomorrow, to raise awareness of the wasteful consumption habits of first world countries.
We live in a country which put a lot of emphasis on having material things, but couldn’t we spend our time better? We could spend this time off we have this weekend being with our family and friends.
Some critics of this protest argue that couldn’t the person just buy something the day after? And that’s true, but this day is meant to make people think about how they’re spending their time and their resources. Put more emphasis on the things that matter most.
