Lily Allen’s U.S. release of “Alright Still” is slated for January 30th, 2007.
In the meantime, check out her video for her song “Smile”. This song sounds exactly like “LDN”, but just with different words. I really dig her eye shadow in this video.
We got back from Quebec last night. We didn’t get to go snowboarding like we planned, because (believe it or not) none of their mountains had snow on them. It ends up all the snow was on the other coast at Whistler. But it was still a nice trip, and it sorta felt like we were in Europe. Quebec is a really nice, quaint town with some castle-looking buildings.
I really wanted to post this link, but ran out of time before I left for my trip…
Last week Cat Power performed for NPR’s live concert series. They’re streaming the whole concert and interview. If you can make it through the 10 minute drawn out intro, its a really nice concert.

But none of them can hold a candle to one of my all-time favorite bands, who just happen to be from Montreal, as well. Bran Van 3000 is made up by about 15 musicians and they’re a mixture of trip-hop, electronic, and indie-rock. And its quirky. No two songs are similar, but I love it through and through. Unfortunately there last release was in 2001, and it doesn’t appear that they’re gonna be getting back together anytime soon.
Tomorrow is Black Friday - the biggest shopping day of the year. Some people in protest of consumerism are buying nothing tomorrow, to raise awareness of the wasteful consumption habits of first world countries.
We live in a country which put a lot of emphasis on having material things, but couldn’t we spend our time better? We could spend this time off we have this weekend being with our family and friends.
Some critics of this protest argue that couldn’t the person just buy something the day after? And that’s true, but this day is meant to make people think about how they’re spending their time and their resources. Put more emphasis on the things that matter most.
Normally I make it a point to not post pictures of baby animals, but for these 3-D Ultrasounds of animal babies in the womb are an exception.
The Daily Mail features a gallery of images of animals in the womb from the National Geographic documentary In The Womb: Animals that airs December 10. I’m not sure how much these images have been enhanced and altered with CG but they’re still quite stunning.
The Warholizer is a “Flickr toy that will take your photo and turn it into a collection of filtered silkscreen-like images in tribute to the style of pop artist Andy Warhol.
Snoop Dogg and Jakks Pacific, Inc. (JPI) announced Monday (November 13) that the rapper’s new line of pet products will be available for pre-order in conjunction with the release of his new solo album, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment.
