Queen of the road!

Since I decided to move to Denmark next winter I’ve been making lists of things that I have to do/see before I leave this strange island of mine. One of these things is to travel as much outside Reykjavík as I can. All these amazing places that I’ve always wanted to see but never had the chance to. All those mountain roads that I’ve dreamt about for so long. I’m feeling like its now or never.
So I’ve been going crazy driving anywhere and everywhere. And last weekend I finally went the famous mountain road called Kjalvegur (just two days after it was open) where you drive between two glaciers. I found the landscape there to be amazing! The road takes you to a magical place called Hveravellir. Its really crazy to think of being so close to a glacier but having all those hot springs there! There are two logdes there and a camping area and next time I’m defiantly gonna stay the night there and just relax in the hot springs there.
So if you see some lunatic driving too fast with funny sunglasses its moi… queen of the road!

glaciers & hot springs… that would be amazing to stay at one of the lodges there!
i think i need to put iceland on my ‘must-see’ list!
glaciers scare me, alot. still that sound amazing, please post a picture of the road between the glaciers if at all possible.
thats probably the closest i’ll ever get to a glacier…kind of like snakes on animal planet.

Jorge: I would love to visit the majestic Iceland. The whole country isn’t a giant glacier is it?
Sandra: No you stupid yank. I said a road between two glaciers.
Jorge: Lady you have yourself a date but easy on the sassy. I like it but I’m frail.
Sandra: Since i’m being sassy and all let me clear up a few things. We don’t live in
iglos, we are not all beautiful blue-eyed blondes and we do have our own language! Plus
we cant drive to another country, we are actually an island. But its true that we eat
sheep heads and shark meat on special occation and we do LOVE tourists!!!
Jorge: Ok… don’t take yourself so seriously!! I was only joking. I take it back, I
don’t think I have the stomach for it. You are WAY too crazy!!!!
Sandra: Well its your choice but I have to say that you don’t know what you are missing!
Sleep on it, ok? You won’t regret it…
jorge: sandra…err…i mean iceland here i come. you had me at shark meat.
