Which version do you like better? I still think Joy Division does the best job.
At first, I liked the Jose Gonzalez cover better than Calexico but by the time I was done listening to his cover I was bored. Was a bit flat/monotone for my taste… Joy Division’s version is more emotional… which it should be cause they’re talking about love tearing you apart! I just didn’t buy it in the covers.
I heard a rumor that “Love Will Tear Us Apart” is a cynical parody of Captain and Teneele’s “Love Will Keep Us Together”. Check it out…
